Transition from NFIRS to NERIS Reporting

Starting in December 2025 through January 2026, the Union Fire District will begin transitioning from reporting under the NFIRS (National Fire Incident Reporting System) standard to the NERIS (National Emergency Response Information System) standard.

Because NFIRS will be sunset on December 31, 2025, all reports after this date will use the new NERIS standard. Reports will continue to be completed in EPR Fireworks, but the format and required fields will change.

We encourage members to review these materials ahead of time to get comfortable with the updated process. More detailed information and training will be provided as the transition date approaches.
